The course studies a range of different, interesting, recent building in London and considers every aspect of its creation, from conception to completion. This includes the roles of clients and owners, the design philosophy and process, planning problems, the construction process, and the reception of the finished building by users, public and press. The job architect is present to discuss all aspects of its planning and construction. All of the buildings chosen are new for this year's course and are viewed during outside visits, which may take place at weekends. It would be useful if the student had attended Tim's courses on 'Contemporary Architecture' before enrolling on the very popular course.
